Which menstrual cup suits me the most?

With our size chart for menstrual cups you can easily decide the best fit for you!

Every woman has a different shape, a different past and different needs. Therefore there are a number of different types of menstrual cups. Once you have found the right cup for you, you can wear it for up to 12 hours without emptying it. But how do you find the right menstrual cup? To find a suitable menstrual cup and to determine the right size, you have to ask yourself the following questions:
  • How heavy are your periods?
  • How well trained is your pelvic base?
  • How deep is your cervix during your period?
  • Have you had one or more natural births?
  • How old are you?

The severity of your bleeding gives you information on the holding capacity of the menstrual cup - you can of course wear your menstrual cup during a heavy bleeding too! The condition of the pelvic base tells you what degree of hardness your menstrual cup should have. The more trained your pelvic base muscles are, the harder your cup should be - if your pelvic base is trained very well you need a hard menstrual cup. Depending on the distance between the vaginal entrance and the cervix you then choose the length of your cup. You can determine the size of your menstrual cup by your age, but it also depends on past births. Menstrual cups for young girls should be smaller. Cups for older women who might have also given birth naturally should generally be slightly larger.

The size chart for menstrual cups gives you an overview of the different cup sizes. That way you can see at a glance which cup fulfils all your criteria.
You're having trouble with a leaking menstrual cup or are having trouble setting it right? We also have some different folding techniques in an overview and a few tips for the right way to insert your menstrual cup.

*The degree of hardness is a value between 1 and 5 that we have chosen subjectively, with 1 representing a very soft cup and 5 a very hard cup.
** FemmyCycle are not subject to the traditional "degrees of hardness" because their shape allows you to use it on the pelvic base with every strength
